Strawberry Festival 2009

From Jun.09
Our little town has a festival every year at the end of June. This year we had a booth to raise money for our youth camp in July. Our booth was a water balloon toss. Notice the dad in the hole, after awhile people were putting their faces in the holes to cool off!
From Jun.09
Using our resources toting water balloons! We spent all day at the festival filling water balloons, giving out prizes and taking care of the booth. We went through over 1000 water balloons and still ran out early. They were a big hit in more ways than one :-) Hailey was a trooper and as you can see below had her own fun. Thanks to all who helped make this day a success!

Father's Day

For Father's Day we took Tim and my dad on a train ride from Brunswick to Rockland. What else would you expect?! Happy Father's Day to the best daddies in the whole wide world!

On Sunday Hailey actually sat through her first full board game. This might sound like a small feat for some, but she has never sat through a whole game of anything and I personally love games so I have been waiting for the day she would want to enjoy them with me. YEAH!

And who can resist this picture?! Hailey with her "baby" Bella! She is a great kitty who puts up with alot of Hailey's antics yet never has scratched or lashed out at her.

learning letters

From Jun.09

Hailey has finally taken an interest in learning her letters. We tried to start with A, but she didn't like that letter very much so we went straight to H and I! YEAH Hailey!

From Jun.09

Yesterday we took Hailey on her first hike where she had to put some effort into it. Last year we bought a "packpack" as she calls it and all she has to do was look cute, this year she is to heavy for that. I looked up great hikes for kids online and Arethusa Falls came up. Lets just say, by kids I think they mean older kids.

From Jun.09

While eating lunch we came across the butterfly garden above. Who knew they grew butterflies like flowers up in the White Mountains? :-)

From Jun.09

As you can see, this was no easy hike for those little legs, but she did amazing and hiked up all 1.3 miles of uneven terrain.

From Jun.09

She loved following the blue paint on the trees and rocks to make sure we kept to the trail.

back in focus

We are in and settled. The move is done, tv and internet finally set up and we can breathe again. YEAH! We moved May 2nd and then May 9th I ran my first race. I love running and have always wanted to run a race, but have always found excuses not to enter. So when my friend Kathy asked me if I wanted to run an 8K with her I decided it was time to ditch the excuses and go for it. I had plenty of excuses with the move, and life in general, but I pushed through and we kicked butt. Not only did we kick butt we ended up pushing our kids in the race. What a way to celebrate Mother's Day.

The kids pre-race ...

Me, post race ...

From May.09
The race was in Yarmouth, MA, so we used it as a great excuse to spend the weekend in the Cape. Here are a few pix of the girls.

We took most of the pix with Kathy's camera so I will post more when I get them from her.

To catch up, in April our teens held an event to raise money for the 30 hour famine. The kids starved for 30 hours and slept outside in boxes. It was a fun weekend and we raised over $3100.

And lastly, we have a few addition to our family. A kitty named Bella. Hailey of course loves her, maybe a little to much as she is quite smothered, but thankfully the kitty takes it well.

And yes, she is a little "big" to be a kitty. She was given to us from a family friend and is approx 8 months old.

Hopefully now that we are all set up I can update on a more regular basis.

crazy weekend!

From Apr.09

We've been so busy moving we haven't had any fun so we took this past weekend and had some fun. On Friday we took Hailey to the Southwick Zoo. It was a 2 hour drive, but worth the trip. One thing I noticed is how "scheduled" Hailey is ... She kept telling me how things were going to go. "Mommy, we will see the monkeys, ride the train, feed the Bambi's and then go home, ok?" And she kept drilling the schedule. Did I teach her this?! I am not sure if its a good trait or not for a 3 year old?!

On Sunday we celebrated Alyssa's 5th birthday. I still can't believe she is 5! It was held at BounceU. The kids had a blast! Hailey was scared at first and was crying, but after seeing everyone else have fun she loosened up and joined it.
