bargaining

Hailey ended preschool/daycare back in June and very happily at that. She was fine for most of the year, but the last few weeks were rough and she would cry everytime I dropped her off. Because of this I have been prepping her that once again, in the fall she will have to go back to school. Hoping that the preparation will help with the transition.

Well, to describe to her when she is going back to school, I said, its when the leaves fall ...

So as we all know Hailey has a clothes fetish, to the point now where she will only wear certain dresses. This morning I picked one out for her that she apparently wasn't fond of and this is our conversation ...

Hailey: Mommy, I don't want to wear that dress
Me: Well, that makes we sad because I bought you that and wish you would wear it
Hailey: o.k., mommy I will wear my this dress(the one she picked out) today and I will wear your dress to school, when the leaves fall

Do you see the bargaining she does at such a young age? She is trying to appease me and still get what she wants. Oh boy!

She started dance a few weeks ago and absolutely loves it. The class is a riot to watch as there are 4 - 4 year old girls and they all have personalities all their own!

Thankfully, the sun came out this past weekend/week so we spent some time at the beach and as you can see above, Hailey is loving it!

Above is Hailey and Nana at Friendly's where we took Hailey to celebrate her actual birthday! We planned her party for this Saturday so I think she is quite confused as why I made a fuss over yesterday. She thinks party = birthday. Being the wonderful mom I am, not only did I take her to Friendly's I also scheduled her 4 year check-up. Boy, was she happy with me.

She weighed in at 34lbs and 38 inches. They said she is around the 20th percentile and growing perfectly on target year to year. Not bad for starting at 2lbs 15oz! She did go back on reflux meds, this time we are trying prevacid. She has had some throat issues so we are giving it an 8 week trial and see if it improves. Either way we will probably have to go back to Boston to follow up with the GI doc at that point. All in all though she is doing wonderful and perfect in every way. I just want to know how did she get to 4 years old already?! Time sure does fly!!!

On Friday we headed up to camp and held Kaylee's 8th birthday. Yes, 8th. I can't believe how quickly everyone is growing up! She was born days before my husband and I's wedding so I will always remember how old she is ;-) Happy birthday Kaylee!

On Saturday, we headed to Wolfeboro to enjoy the little sun we had at the lake and then we stayed for fireworks. The firework display was ok, the grand finale excellent, and the company priceless!

Strawberry Festival 2009

From Jun.09
Our little town has a festival every year at the end of June. This year we had a booth to raise money for our youth camp in July. Our booth was a water balloon toss. Notice the dad in the hole, after awhile people were putting their faces in the holes to cool off!
From Jun.09
Using our resources toting water balloons! We spent all day at the festival filling water balloons, giving out prizes and taking care of the booth. We went through over 1000 water balloons and still ran out early. They were a big hit in more ways than one :-) Hailey was a trooper and as you can see below had her own fun. Thanks to all who helped make this day a success!

For Father's Day we took Tim and my dad on a train ride from Brunswick to Rockland. What else would you expect?! Happy Father's Day to the best daddies in the whole wide world!

On Sunday Hailey actually sat through her first full board game. This might sound like a small feat for some, but she has never sat through a whole game of anything and I personally love games so I have been waiting for the day she would want to enjoy them with me. YEAH!

And who can resist this picture?! Hailey with her "baby" Bella! She is a great kitty who puts up with alot of Hailey's antics yet never has scratched or lashed out at her.

learning letters

From Jun.09

Hailey has finally taken an interest in learning her letters. We tried to start with A, but she didn't like that letter very much so we went straight to H and I! YEAH Hailey!

Yesterday we took Hailey on her first hike where she had to put some effort into it. Last year we bought a "packpack" as she calls it and all she has to do was look cute, this year she is to heavy for that. I looked up great hikes for kids online and Arethusa Falls came up. Lets just say, by kids I think they mean older kids.

From Jun.09

While eating lunch we came across the butterfly garden above. Who knew they grew butterflies like flowers up in the White Mountains? :-)

From Jun.09

As you can see, this was no easy hike for those little legs, but she did amazing and hiked up all 1.3 miles of uneven terrain.

From Jun.09

She loved following the blue paint on the trees and rocks to make sure we kept to the trail.
