quick update

Here are some pictures from the past week ....

Hailey's friend Sidney teaching her a new skill :-)

puddle jumping and bike riding ....

a busy bee!
Hailey's new cousin Jack :-)
Baby Laila!
Hailey and daddy mowing the lawn
We went to fireworks Friday night and they had this neat little tractor that was transformed into a train, Hailey (and daddy) loved riding it!

On the update front, Hailey is still completely into princesses. To the point where I CANNOT put anything but a dress on her unless I am asking for fight. How do you reason with her when all princesses where dresses? She feels she is not beautiful unless she is in a dress no matter what you tell her. The first thing she asks for in the morning - "mommy can I put my dress on?"

She also has this new habit of coming to our bed every morning around 4am. The strange thing is if I fight and put her back in her bed as soon as I get up for work at 5:15a she is up and in the kitchen with me. If she is in our bed she sleeps through my alarm and getting ready and will sleep in with daddy till about 8:30a. How does that make sense I have no idea, but because she sleeps longer I have given in to her coming into our bed in the morning since Tim gets home at 1am from work and needs the sleep.I do feel though that I may begin to regret this decision because its becoming an everyday habit.

Potty training, what potty training?! I GIVE UP (not really, but I could use some pointers)! I know every mother has her story and I know many who have kids already potty trained and those not even close. We are in the middle, I really think what is holding her back is her stubborn personality.

Lastly, my little girl will be 3 next month, can you believe it!? She is quite aware that her birthday is coming and is over the top excited. She asks me almost every day if its time for her party yet.

We used one big thing the kids really wanted as a prize (ie bike, Barbie house, whatever) and I made a HUGE chart on bright pink posterboard. For every pee in the potty, one sticker, for every poo, two. And I mean, this chart was so big, they were potty trained half way through it lol. And I put a picture of the item they wanted at the top, and let them pick/put on the stickers.
