miracles

From Apr.10

If you had told me back in November that in April we would be welcoming Jordyn home, cancer free I probably would have looked at you cross eyed and not said a word. Why? I was losing hope, I was deep in despair, anger, hurt over the situation. I said I trusted God, but inwardly I questioned everything, but all along he was going the distance with me and performing a miracle right before my very eyes. Our eyes!

Watching Jordyn come home yesterday was truly watching a miracle unfold. Last time she came home she could barely walk and we could not go near her due to her having no immune system. We felt as if we were saying goodbye and all we could do is sit back and watch as the story unfolded. But this time, who knew there would be a this time? This time she hopped out the van and hugged us all. She played with her cousins, she opened presents and she ate. Yes, ate - that is huge since for 5 months she hadn't taken a bite of anything.

There still is a long road of recovery ahead, she still has to go back to St. Jude every other week, she still has to visit Dana Farber, she still has to take many pills a day, but she is home and she is cancer free. As my sister in law Robin said on her blog, to have Sonny, Tracey, Taylor and Jordyn all together, under one roof with no cancer is a unbelievable. And we pray for many, many, long years ahead!
