swings, soup and sisters

From May.10
Sorry for the lack of updates, as most of you know I am training for a marathon that is about 20 days away and we are moving a couple weeks after that. I am swamped, but things should settle down shortly. Hailey amazes me everyday at just how much she is growing and how fast time flies by!
From May.10
She is LOVING the warmer weather and spends every moment she can outside. She has recently learned the art of swinging all by herself, and she is quite proud of herself.
From May.10

She also has quite the imagination, inclusive of many imaginary friends. Genty, Mely and JC are among her top ones. They go everywhere with us and cause alot of mischief. Lately Hailey has taken to making pretend "soup" in the bird bath. She takes water, mixes it with some dirt, leaves etc and feeds it to us. As you can see below its quite delish!

From May.10

From May.10
This past weekend she not only was able to sleep over Uncle Matt & Auntie Laura's house, but then Alyssa slept over Saturday night. They had a blast as usual and ended today with a squirt gun fight followed by running through the sprinkler.

Hailey lately has been asking for a "sister" I am not sure she knows the implications, but she wants one. She asked me loudly in Target yesterday if daddy could have it in his belly. A lady near by laughed out loud. She then proceed to say we needed to go the baby section to start buying baby stuff. I told her she better watch out before she spreads rumors! And no we are not pregnant, but maybe someday we will grant her wish though I am not sure she will be so keen on sharing our time.

miracles

From Apr.10

If you had told me back in November that in April we would be welcoming Jordyn home, cancer free I probably would have looked at you cross eyed and not said a word. Why? I was losing hope, I was deep in despair, anger, hurt over the situation. I said I trusted God, but inwardly I questioned everything, but all along he was going the distance with me and performing a miracle right before my very eyes. Our eyes!

Watching Jordyn come home yesterday was truly watching a miracle unfold. Last time she came home she could barely walk and we could not go near her due to her having no immune system. We felt as if we were saying goodbye and all we could do is sit back and watch as the story unfolded. But this time, who knew there would be a this time? This time she hopped out the van and hugged us all. She played with her cousins, she opened presents and she ate. Yes, ate - that is huge since for 5 months she hadn't taken a bite of anything.

There still is a long road of recovery ahead, she still has to go back to St. Jude every other week, she still has to visit Dana Farber, she still has to take many pills a day, but she is home and she is cancer free. As my sister in law Robin said on her blog, to have Sonny, Tracey, Taylor and Jordyn all together, under one roof with no cancer is a unbelievable. And we pray for many, many, long years ahead!

sleepover

Alyssa and Luke slept over last weekend and of course the kids had a great time. The boys took off and had fun of their own and the girls had their nails done, went shopping, watched a movie and went to bed. What a perfect "girly" evening.

Family Day

From Mar.10
On Saturday, believe it or not Tim had a day off and it was beautiful weather. Now that never happens! Because our days together are few and far between, we take advantage of the ones we have and make a "family day" out of it This family day we went to Castle Hill/Crane Estates in Ipswich, MA for a picnic. Hailey was in awe of the "castle" and had the best time imagining that it was her castle, her garden and she was princess Belle of course!
From Mar.10

From Mar.10
At the end of the day, Hailey took both our hands while walking and stated, "this was the best family day ever, thank you mommy and daddy"! Talk about melting my heart!
From Mar.10
After visiting Hailey's castle we were off to what else than a princess birthday party. Princess Sidney turned 4!!!! Happy Birthday Siddo!
From Mar.10

From Mar.10
And as if Sidney's cake wasn't enough, we then celebrated Tim's birthday at home with cupcakes. His actual birthday isn't until the 25th, but since he works 2nd shift we will not see him during the week so we celebrated on his day off. Happy Birthday to the best hubby/daddy in the universe!
From Mar.10
Then Sunday was my weekly Team in Training run. We took a picture to send to Jordyn to show her all the people running for her! We love you Jordyn and can't wait for you to come home next month!

sleepovers

From Feb.10

Hailey has had alot of sleepovers lately, Alyssa was able to sleep over two Friday's in a row which was a blast for Hailey.
From Feb.10

Last Friday for the first time ever Hailey slept over Uncle Matt and Auntie Laura's house. She was spoiled and enjoyed her time with them. Then last night she spent the night at Nana and Dooda's house and always doesn't want to come home.
From Feb.10

In between her nights away she is occasionally home. LOL On Sunday we had a picnic in her room. Pip enjoyed sleeping in the basket.
From Feb.10

Next week we are taking her for an eye exam. She has been complaining a little, sitting close to the tv etc ... Yes, this can be normal kid stuff, but since she was a preemie and on oxygen for an extended period of time it doesn't hurt to check.

I feel bad for not updating often because I want this to be a blog that Hailey can look back on for memories. Life has just gotten away with us. She is doing well and everyday I look at her and realize she is growing up so fast right before my eyes!

http://enduranceisntonlyphysical.blogspot.com/

Not sure how many people that follow this blog are runners, but I am entering a giveaway on a running site and one way to win is to post the giveaway on your blog.

The running belt would be great for my marathon training :-)

My Fundraising Page

My Fundraising Page

I am running the Rock N Roll San Diego Marathon in June to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society! I figured it was the best way to realize my dream of running a marathon and yet I am raising money for a cause close to my heart.

I have been running for a while, but really picked up the pace when Jordyn relapsed. It was a stress relief in a world of bad news. I figured if she had to suffer I could push myself a little further. What better way to celebrate all my training and the miracle of her life!

Please visit my page (link above) and think about donating to a great cause!!!
